Did Peter Angelos Nix A 7 For 2 Trade With The Orioles?

Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun Times says Baltimore Orioles owner Peter Angelos nixed a Cubs-Orioles trade. It appears that the deal didn't include Rich Hill or Felix Pie. Both teams have deinied the report. The deal would have the Cubs recieving Brian Roberts and Erik Bedard, the Orioles getting 7 Cubs. Names being rumored in Brain Roberts talks have been:

Sean Gallagher
Sean Marshall
Felix Pie
Rich Hill
Tyler Colvin
Donald Veal
Ronny Cedeno
Eric Patterson
Kevin Hart

Those are 9 players...that means 7 might've been offered. As I said, it didn't look like Hill or Pie would be in a deal. That means the deal sounds like:

Cubs Get: Roberts and Bedard
Orioles Get: Gallagher, Marshall, Colvin, Veal, Cedeno, Patterson, and Hart

Why would Angelos nix this? They're nearly raping our farm system. They're getting 7 players with potential for 2 proven players.

My take:
I'm glad we won't be giving up Hill or Pie. COuld you imagine a starting rotation of Zambrano, Lilly, Hill, and Bedard with others incuded?! The best in the MLB ia what that is. I like the 7 or 2, Angelos needs to understand they aren't going to be in contention and start rebuilding completely. They gave up Tejada, time for Roberts and Bedard to be gone.
