Nashville, TN Winter Meetings Eve

From cubshotstove.blogspot.com: The Winter Meetings officially start one more day in Nashville, Tennessee and the Cubs coud be an active part of the meetings. The Cubs have been talking with several teams and there are 5 players the are interested in trading for. Some of those players could possibly be Nick Markakis and Brian Roberts of the Orioles, the Tampa Bay Rays' Carl Crawford, and If the Angels acquire Miguel Cabrera from the Marlins, maybe Chone Figgins. The Cubs have been recieving interested in their young prospects, but will not ship away their prospect for old veterans unless the deal is in the best interest. If the Cubs don't acquire a center fielder, they have their very own options such as Felix Pie, Sam Fuld, and Angel Pagan who could be battling for the starting role. Pie is the favorite and has progressed. The Padres are interested in Mark Prior, the Cubs are willing to trade him, or sign tack on an option to his deal. The Cubs don't want to risk him shaping back into form, then become a free agent. Such a deal wouldn't make very much sense unless we get Khalil Greene back in return. The Cubs could be very active or inactive, but maybe, just maybe, we can pull something out this winter to help us break the now 100 year World Series championship drought.
