Phil Rogers from the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Cubs and the Brian Roberts deal and the Mariners and the Erik Bedard trade are still in negotiations, but nothing is close. Rogers thinks the stalling with the Roberts trade is over Felix Pie and Tyler Colvin and he thinks if the Cubs are willing to part ways with either Pie or Colvin that the Cubs could strike Roberts and Bedard in the same deal.
My take: I would part with either Pie or Colvin with no hesititation if it were to get both Roberts and Bedard. I like the way Phil Rogers is thinking.
