Orioles Hangout earlier reported that Brian Roberts had been traded to the Cubs for Sean Gallagher, Sean Marshall, and Ronny Cedeno. Andy McPhail has denied the reports. Phil Rogers thinks it's going to happen. WGN's Dave Kaplan looked into al of the chaos the "great sources" of his claim the price to acquire Roberts is higher than what everybody thinks. The Orioles reportedly want Rich Hill, Felix Pie, or Tyler Colvin. Jim Hendry has already said Hill is untuchable and it doesn't look like the club wants to part with Pie just yet, but Colvin? Roberts stole 50 bases last year and hit .290.
My take: This new rumored deal sounds interesting but what would we do with Murton? I like this new deal. It sounds very good and we're getting one of the elite leadoff hitters in the game. Fingers crossed people, fingers crossed. I heard something of a Gallagher, Marshall, Colvin, and Veal deal.
