50 Million Dollar Offer to Fukudome From the Cubs On the Table?

According to the San Diego Tribune the Cubs have offered Kosuke Fukudome a deal that could reach as high as 50 million dollars. If the report is true this would a lot more than what the Padres have reportedly offered "the 2nd or 3rd highest contract in team hisorty." It appears the Cubs are the most aggressive team going after the 2006 Japanese MVP. Fukudome announced today officially he has rejected the Yumiuri Giants' offer of 4 year 30 million to come play in the MLB in 2008. Fingers crossed.
UPDATE: MLB Trade Rumors- Kosuke Fukudome actually would like a 5 year contract. The Cubs have a 4 year 50 million dollar deal on the table for him and are pondering whether to offer him a 5 year 65 million dollar deal.
