The Chicago White Sox designated OF Scott Podsednik for an assignment today. The Padres and Cubs are known to be interested. Last season he was claimed by the Cubs but nothing happened. Mike Cameron landing in San Diego doesn't seem like it will happen. The Padres may sign Podsednik to play a platoon role with somebody else. Speaking of Cameron, the Cubs are one of the teams interested in him and if the asking price for Mike is reasonable, they may make a run at the free agent outfielder.
