Tracy Ringolsby of the Rocky Mountain News is reporting that Kaz Matsui "appears headed to the Astros." The Cubs were reportedly going to offer Matsui a three-year contract around 15 million dollars. The Cubs are being blocked to make deals because of the sale of the organization. Ringolsby also adds the Astros and Rockies could swap 2nd basemen. The Rockies are fond of Chris Burke, and possibly becomes expendable if Matsui is signed. Many believe theres a fairly good chance that Burke will match Matsui in production next year at a much cheaper price. So maybe the 2nd baseman Matsui won't be a Cub after all.
