Sources that are close to free agent 2nd baseman Kaz Matsui are reporting whether he'll sign with the Rockies, Astros, or Cubs. His decision will come by this week. All three teams have made offers to Matsui, but the Rockies gave him a lower offer, so it appears he's on his way out of Colorado. Kaz batted 288 with 4 HR, 37 RBI, with 32 SB. He's only 32 years old. The Cubs are very interested in the 2nd baseman because Kaz is a very speedy infielder and the Cubs are looking for one, plus the Cubs are going after Japanese free agent outfielder Kosuke Fukudome. Kaz could possibly help lure in Fukudome. The Astros are looking for an upgrade in their very weak infield and Matsui may help them out.
