Cubs resigned long time reliever Kerry wood to a 1 year deal worth 4.2 million dollars plus another possible 3.45 million dollars in incentives. He had recieved offers from other teams pursruing him but chose to resign. Kerry wood came back from injury and had a nice comeback year. Last year's closer Ryan Dempster has now officially moved to the starting rotation so now it appears the Cubs may not attempt to pursue another starter. Wood could possibly be battling for the closers role, if not he'll share time or be a reliever.
