The Mets and 2B Luis Castillo have agreed to a 4 year 25 million dollar deal. The Cubs were interested in him as well as Kaz Matsui. Most people would've prefered Castillo who is a better fielder and hitter. The Cubs are very interested in Japanese outfielder Kosuke Fukudome who has not yet decided to leap into the MLB and become a free agent. Since Matsui is Japanese as well and has played in the MLB, maybe he can help lure in Kosuke. We may now be stuck with Kaz.
