A FALSE REPORT from ESPN Radio in Denver, Colorado has reported that the Cubs have signed infielder Kaz Matsui to a 3 year deal worth 14 million. This comes one day after the Wood signing. The Cubs were looking for a speedy guy in their infield. Matsui had a low on base percentage and didn't hit well outside of Coors Field for the Rockies last year. Matsui could be a starting shortstop or 2nd baseman as well as a utility man. This signing could just be for the sake up luring in free agent Japanese outfielder Kosuke Fukudome. Again this has not been confirmed yet, it is false and Matsui is still a free agent.
